Peruvian Book ‘La Flor Morada de los Andes’ is selected for a Gourmand Award among the ‘Best of the best for the past 12 years’

In a ceremony that will be held at the Frankfurt Opera House on the next 14th October, the book ‘La Flor Morada de los Andes, Historia y Receta de la Papa y otros Tubérculos y Raíces’ by Sara Beatriz Guardia will be honoured with a Gourmand Award within the ‘Best of the best for the past 12 years’.

The book was published in 2004 by the San Martín de Porres University and then was awarded with the Gourmand World Cookbooks Awards in Sweden in the category ‘Best single subject food book’.

‘In this occasion, “La Flor Morada de los Andes” will be honoured as the best of the best within the books awarded in different categories during the past 12 years with a Gourmand’, said Guardia.

The book is based on research of the Peruvian potato, not only from a gastronomic approach but also from a historic, cultural and anthropological focus linked with the tuber in Andean societies and its spreading around the world.

‘La Flor Morada de los Andes’ has been published in three editions, two in Spanish and one edition in English.
