| Baila Peru would like to thank the organisers of the Thames Festival for giving the group the opportunity to be part of this important cultural event.
The group is particularly grateful to all participants, sponsors and volunteers whose support enabled Baila Peru to successfully represent Peruvian culture on this memorable occasion by showcasing some of the most representative dances from the three regions of Peru.
Baila Peru would like to take the opportunity to extend a special thanks to the Peruvian Embassy and the General Consulate of Peru for their support and encouragement.
Baila Peru is honoured to have been the first Peruvian dance group to be included in the Thames Festival Night Carnival and to have innovatively unified other Peruvian dance groups for this presentation. The intention of the initiative was to set a precedent of mutual cooperation amongst London’s Peruvian community that can allow Peruvian culture to be represented in a more collective and harmonious manner in future cultural events. Artists, dancers and those interested in representing Peruvian heritage can create a bigger impact by joining together to achieve this objective with transparency and a clear vision.
The group would like to express gratitude to those who worked with and as part of Baila Peru from the early stages of the planning process right through to the final performance (below is the list of all contributors).
It was a pleasure as well as a remarkable experience to have collaborated with other groups and talented artists and to have jointly shared the resources available, which were made possible by sponsors and supporters.
Baila Peru takes pride in promoting the diversity of Peruvian culture by showcasing dances from the three regions of Peru: the Andes, Amazonian and Coastal region, as well as welcoming a diversity within its participants, regardless of background, gender or age.
