Machu Picchu and its impressive majesty. The forest of Loreto forest and its magical exoticism. Beauties that captured rushed walking Londoners as part of the advertising campaign run by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru, PromPeru. This tourist campaign was placed on 155 taxis in London from 21st January to 18th February, producing spontaneous comments from the public, which caused more than a headache to taxi drivers who had to play the role of travel consultants to answer passengers' enquiries.
Public transport advertising, specially 'taxi advertising', is one of the most popular ways of commercial promotion in London, and it is used by all kind of organizations and companies due to its high levels of diffusion and impact.
This campaign is part of the different activities carried out by PromPeru in the UK to attract one of the most important markets in the world for tourism. Following this campaign, the Peruvian Commission started advertising the new TV series 'Mummy Forensics' which has aired on 2nd March by The History Channel.
Look for the Mummy's ad at your nearest tube station.
