In the spirit of furthering ties with European and Latin America and the Caribbean business communities, as well as presenting the opportunities for investment in Peru, host country to the V LAC-EU Summit, Proinversión and the National Confederation of Private Business Associations (CONFIEP) are organising an "Invest in Peru" Forum and Business Roundtable.

The event will take place at the Country Club Hotel in Lima on May 16th 2008 and will consist in two stages:

Morning session:

1) President of the Council of Ministers Jorge del Castillo* will inaugurate the forum followed by presentations of the investment climate in Peru and then sector specific presentations of business opportunities in mining, energy, agribusiness, tourism and infrastructure.

Afternoon session:

2) “Business Roundtables” or bilateral meetings between entrepreneurs from Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union, and Peruvian entrepreneurs, who seek business contacts in accordance with their interests, based on a previously established agenda.

Participation is free of charge. Hotel facilities will have adequate and comfortable areas for the morning event and the individual meetings in the afternoon. A business center will be available for the representatives, offering free access to computers, printers, photocopiers and Internet. Moreover, to offer a complete service to the visitors, shuttle service will be available from the main hotels to the venue, at no charge.
